Clean Currents Helps Under Armour Go Green
Maryland Green Company Brokers Deal for 100% Wind Power at Several Under Armour Facilities
Rockville, MD (June 10, 2010) – Clean Currents announced today that it has successfully helped Under Armour purchase wind power to meet 100% of its use at several facilities. The deal is part of Under Armour’s overall green initiative. It covers Under Armour’s large warehouses in Maryland, plus three retail stores in the region.
“We are so excited to be working with Under Armour, a leading business in Maryland, to green up their operations through the purchase of wind power,” noted Gary Skulnik, Co-Founder and President of Clean Currents. “We applaud Under Armour for its commitment to clean energy and a cleaner planet.”
Clean Currents has helped more than 700 business accounts and 6,000 residential accounts switch to clean, renewable wind power in Maryland and DC. It recently expanded operations to Pennsylvania and is in the process of getting licensed in Delaware. The company has also recently opened an office in Catonsville, Maryland, to better serve the Baltimore area market.
“Working with one of Baltimore's leading businesses to help them go green is one more way Clean Currents is showing that we want to be the top green energy player in the city,” Skulnik stated. “Companies in Baltimore that want to go green should choose Clean Currents, the only independent, authentically green energy company dedicated to fighting climate change.”
Other clean energy deals recently brokered by Clean Currents include the town of Hyattsville, the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless, Unitarian Universalist Church of Silver Spring, and Kelly Electric. For more information about Clean Currents, visit www.cleancurrents.com
