Clean Currents and the Rockville Chamber of Commerce have collaborated in creating Maryland's first ever "chamber clean energy buying group". Originally focused on businesses, the first group is buying 700,000 KWh of wind power, offsetting a total of 1,108,296 pounds of CO2 (which is enough to power 65 homes for one year, or is the equivalent of taking 96 passenger vehicles off the road for an entire year). We estimate that the group will save over $40,000 over a 3 year period.
We are now thrilled to extend the opportunity to participate in the second phase of the program to chamber members, employees, and friends & family. This second phase allows individual homeowners to register to purchase green power for their homes at a price that is currently lower than regional utility rates. Usually when something seems too good to be true, it is - but this is a rare exception. You really can save money while helping to save the environment!
