Solar Design and Installation Process
Virtual Assessment
One of our trained sales consultants will review your property from information gathered from your assessment form. Using mapping software, they will study the property and come up with questions as well as rough measurements. They will send an email or call to discuss their initial findings.
Customer Meeting
If your property is a viable candidate for solar based upon virtual assessment, one of our sales consultants will be set up an in-person meeting to better understand your situation and design an appropriate system. You will also have a discussion about:
How solar works
What grants, tax credits and other benefits are available
What product options we can offer and their rough costs
Discuss financing options and pre approval steps if appropriate
The sales consultant will also use a sophisticated computer analysis tool called a sun eye to determine annual shading. The sun eye provides reliable calculations of the average annual sunlight and shading your roof receives, taking into account seasonal variation and orientation to the sun for the entire year. Knowing the potential efficiency of the system at a given location on your roof allows for optimum system design and placement.
Initial Proposal Review and Approval
Upon your request, the next step is for the sales consultant to meet with Clean Currents operations staff to determine system size, viability, and installation details. We then speak with the manufacturer about equipment availability and lead times, and work to get you the best price possible for your solar power system.Initial proposal options will be presented and discussed. Once one is agreed upon, a signed estimate and deposit are needed to get more detailed design information by one of our installation team.
System Design Confirmation
One of our installers will come to your home and take a variety of detailed measurements and readings. In addition to determining exactly what size system your site can accommodate, developing a plan for the installation that will be reviewed and stamped by a licensed engineer.
Design Confirmation and Final Sign Off
Once you understand the in and outs of your solar energy system, all that’s left is to sign the following documents:
-
The Purchase Contract - detailing the final design specifications, plus a full deposit required to get plans, permits and materials ordered.
-
The Interconnection Agreement- This document is the formal request for permission from your power company to tie your renewable energy system to the power grid.
-
The Application for Grant Reservation - This crucial document gets filed with the state. Its approval is what entitles you to your state rebate.
-
Solar Renewable Energy Contract - This is an important part of the financial return. Clean Currents Solar can provide a buyer and a contract.
Process Paperwork and Permits
Our professional and courteous staff process the paperwork, order the necessary equipment, and schedule your system installation date, all while taking your specific needs into account.
Installation
One of our professional installation teams will install your system for maximum efficiency, while accounting for your preferences. Once the installation is complete we will test the system and then have the system inspected by local officials. After the system passes inspection, we then notify and wait for confirmation from the utility to allow us to commission your system. This process usually takes a 2-5 weeks.
System Turn On and Warranty
Once all inspections are completed and utility approvals have been granted, a member of the Clean Currents Solar staff will turn on your system. From there, we will be available to answer questions or deal with warranty issues for the duration of the term.
