As a certified B Corporation and Maryland’s first Benefit LLC, Clean Currents uses the power of business to help solve environmental issues.  We believe it is our responsibility to protect and improve our natural environment while conducting our business operations and commit ourselves to sustainable practices in everything we do.  We also hope to see growth among socially responsible business in general.  It is therefore with great pride that we are involved in supporting the programming of LearnServe International which is training the social entrepreneurs of the future!

LearnServe International is an award-winning DC-based non-profit organization that trains high school students to be effective global leaders and social entrepreneurs.  Over 30 local public, private, and charter high schools are involved in their programing.  Through a year-long LearnServe Fellows Program, students are guided as they design and launch their own social ventures – action projects that address critical issues in their schools and communities.  In the process students learn effective business, leadership, entrepreneurship, and cross-cultural communications skills.  LearnServe is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization and was recognized by the 2011-12 Catalogue for Philanthropy as one of the best small charities in the Washington, DC area.  

As an official LearnServe Business Partner, Clean Currents will work directly with LearnServe Fellows as they get their venture projects off the ground by mentoring students one-on-one, by providing educational workshops, and by serving on the LearnServe panel of judges. Clean Currents is thrilled to be working with this phenomenal organization and the driven LearnServe Fellows.
