In an effort to provide basic energy upgrades and education to a large number of Maryland ratepayers, the Maryland Public Service Commission ordered utilities to provide the Quick Home Energy Check-Up (QHEC) at NO CHARGE. 

Clean Currents partner Ecobeco can provide a QHEC in the Pepco Maryland service territory.  During a QHEC, your home energy auditor will install CFL lighting and implement other topline energy-saving measures.  Most home owners will save over $100 per year in electricity and another $50 per year in water and sewer costs as a result of these efficiency measures.

Who is eligible for a Quick Home Energy Check-up?  This service is available to all residents who live in a condo, apartment, townhouse, or single family home in the Pepco Maryland service territory.

Should I get a QHEC or a Comprehensive Energy Audit?  There is no substitute for the thoroughness and testing completed during a comprehensive energy audit, but for people who are feeling budget constrained, who want to make quick efficiency upgrades, or who feel they will not be making any major improvements over the next year, the QHEC is a good way to get started on saving energy.
