Maryland Based Clean Energy Company Leads Retail Energy Companies in Rankings

(Rockville, MD – Aug. 26, 2011) – Maryland based Clean Currents earned the #196 ranking in Inc. Magazine’s annual list of the 500 and fastest-growing private companies in the United States. This ranking marks Clean Currents as the sixth fastest growing company in Maryland and Washington, DC and the fastest growing retail energy company in the nation.  

The Inc. list of companies is ranked according to percentage revenue growth over a three-year period. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of the starting calendar year, and therefore able to show three full calendar years of sales. Additionally, all listed companies have to be U.S.-based, privately held, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies. From 2008 through 2010, Clean Currents experienced revenue growth of 1,548%.
