(San Francisco, CA - Nov. 16, 2011) – The Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) awarded Clean Currents with the Best Marketing Campaign by a Green Power Supplier award at this year’s national Renewable Energy Markets conference in San Francisco today. The award recognizes Clean Currents for its exceptional work in marketing green power to consumers.
“This award is like the Oscar’s of the green power marketing industry,” exclaimed Gary Skulnik, President and Co-Founder of Clean Currents. “We greatly appreciate our peers recognizing the creativity and outstanding efforts of our dedicated team in promoting clean energy through our green electricity products.”
The award specifically noted Clean Currents’ “Choose Power” campaign which the company ran in the Washington DC and Baltimore media markets throughout the spring of 2010. The Choose Power campaign utilized an integrated marketing approach to promote Clean Currents’ residential wind power option with the ultimate goal of increasing public awareness of green electricity choice. Clean Currents purchased targeted radio ad time, print ads in select outlets, conducted a direct mail and lawn sign campaign within targeted geographic areas, and utilized web-based and new media tools.
The campaign was run by Skulnik, with all the design work for the ads and collateral material created by Nana Design.
“Working with Nana Design and a great team of people here at Clean Currents, we were able to craft a comprehensive campaign that connected with green-minded consumers,” noted Skulnik. “The campaign proved successful because the campaign was visually appealing, targeted in approach, and because we have the credibility of being the only truly green energy company in the Mid-Atlantic.”
