What do I need to consider when comparing electric rates?

Electricity delivery is broken into three components:  Generation, Transmission, and Distribution.  When you choose a new electric supplier, you are switching the Generation and Transmission components of electricity delivery.  Your local utility will remain responsible for Distribution, which includes maintenance and billing.
